In 2023, the Alhubb Explore division led one of its most memorable journeys to date, taking 15 individuals on a spiritual and historical tour of Turkey. The trip, part of the “Alhubb Inreach 2023” program, was designed to create a unique space for deep personal reflection and growth by exploring the roots of the Christian faith firsthand.
Walking Through History, Growing in Faith
The group had an incredible and fun-filled time travelling across the country to visit historical landmarks that play a significant role in Christian history. The itinerary blended rich cultural exploration with deep spiritual study, as the group worked through the Gospels together in the very lands where the early church was born. This provided a tangible connection between the scriptures and the physical world.
A Space for Inward Reflection and Growth
A core belief of the Alhubb Explore division is that “creating a space for reflection inwards creates so much space for growth.” The journey to Turkey was a practical application of this principle. By removing individuals from their daily routines and immersing them in a new culture, the trip fostered an environment for profound self-discovery and spiritual renewal.
The ultimate goal of the trip was discipleship—”creating one disciple at a time with an identity rooted in Christ.” The experience was a profound success, with participants expressing a strong desire to return. As one noted, “Turkey will definitely see us coming back.”
